CALL FOR DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM
The EC-TEL Doctoral Consortium brings together Ph.D. students working on topics related to Technology Enhanced Learning. The Doctoral Consortium will offer Ph.D. students the opportunity to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their research in an interdisciplinary and international atmosphere. The Doctoral Consortium will be accompanied by prominent professors and researchers in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning. These accompanying professors will participate actively and contribute to the discussions. The Doctoral Consortium is co-located with and will take place immediately before the EC-TEL 2009 conference. The working language for the Doctoral Consortium will be English.
We welcome submissions on all major topics, to those of relevance for EC-TEL 2009. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two members of the EC-TEL Programme Committee. Papers selected will be published in proceedings and authors will present their work in front of other students and senior researchers during the Doctoral Consortium workshop. Each accepted paper will be assigned to at least two scientific advisors who will provide extended feedback on the research. We encourage submissions from all PhD students, and especially those in their first years of PhD study.
The goal of the symposium is to provide a unique opportunity for PhD students to expose their work to an international group of academics and PhD students outside their home institution, enhancing feedback from their supervisors.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
- Prepare your paper with the WORD or the LATEX SpringerLNCS template and convert it to PDF. No other formats are accepted for submission! Please note that you should not include author details (name, institution etc.) in the paper - they will be specified during submission.
- Register at the EasyChair System.
- Login with your EasyChair username and password
- Choose "New Submission" in the top menu
- Choose "ECTEL09_DC" track
- Fill out all details in the form
- Please specify the category, some keywords and topics for your contribution
- Upload your paper as a PDF
- Register into the conference

SUBMISSION FORMAT
DC papers should have no more than 6 pages
Your submission should contain the following sections:
description of research field
research hypothesis and which role it plays within the field and why it is important/interesting to be examined
related work
work done so far
research method applied (e.g. design research, experiments, ...)
We will select submissions based on the following criteria:
match with EC-TEL topics
quality of research described in the DC paper
quality of presentation/writing in the DC paper
IMPORTANT DATES FOR DC PAPERS
Submission date for DC papers: June 10th, 2009
DC acceptance notification: July 17th, 2009
Submission of the camera ready accepted DC papers: August 31st, 2009
Doctoral consortium: September 29th or 30th, 2009
Conference: October 1st and 2nd, 2009
